![]() ![]() "Yes, you have, and it's the second time." Not bothered by my reaction, he redirected his hand to my waist instead. "What? I have not," I snapped, slapping away a hand of his that was on it's way up to cup my face. "Hmmhmm, you called me Deema again," he hummed as he closed the distance between us. ![]() His fingers lightly ran over the scar he created, sending a pleasant shock through me, and I reluctantly leaned away from him, trying to ignore the odd sensation it created. Not saying a word, he stepped directly into my space and swept my hair back to examine my neck. And I'm pretty sure she knows all about you and these dreams." "A woman stuck her nails into my neck, Deema! My neck. "If you knew that, then why didn't you warn me? Hell, why didn't you prepare me for them?" I continued, outrage slowly replacing my confusion as I spoke. "Wh- What do you mean 'you know'?"I asked, confused. Taken aback for a moment, I stared at him incredulously. The Council's here," I told him, anxiety underlying in my voice. "Well, you can't possibly be too busy for this. He shrugged, wearing an easy smile on his face. "Where the hell have you been? I've been waiting for at least twenty minutes," I said, my voice edged with frustration as I walked towards him in short steps. I turned at his voice, sighing with relief. Did you know that?" A deep voice asked, startling me out of my thoughts. However, I can understand how it can be a hit-or-miss for some people as (1) again, the often higher-pitched voice majority in KPOP groups (especially vocalists) which can make deep voices feel out of place sometimes (2) maybe deep voice idols shine in a specific type or genre of songs.idk? For clarification, an example I can think of is how V shines in R&B, Neo-soul, darker, and jazzy songs like "Singularity" and "Stigma", but less in contrast in songs like "Boy with Luv" (or maybe "DNA" in OP's case) which are brighter and more poppy in contrast.I tapped my foot and bit the inside of my lip uneasily. Also, on a personal note, I also have a relatively deep voice as a female so it definitely does alleviate certain insecurities that I have about my voice lol. ![]() However, to the general opinions, I absolutely adore deep voices in KPOP considering how a good fraction of KPOP idols (especially a majority of vocalists) have higher-pitched voices, and how KPOP songs tend to favor higher-pitched voices or mid-to-high ranges in general like if you look at the line distributions of a good fraction of KPOP songs, you can notice that not only vocalists get the majority of lines in total (unless you're in YG where rappers are favored more lol), but also the line distribution of these songs tends to favor higher-pitched voices in general. Speaking about "Singularity" though, like another user has mentioned, it's not the best example to include since it was supposed to be a song catered to him, so of course, he'll sound fine there, but both my little sister and I agreed that his voice in the song is one of the main reasons why we consider "Singularity" as one of the best KPOP songs (if not the best) in our honest opinions. Definitely same! His bridge part in DNA was how he became the first vocalist in BTS that stood out to me (and thus, my most favorite voice in BTS) and my most favorite part in DNA, and was one of the main factors that pulled me into BTS more back then (a couple of years ago).
